Tim welcomed the enthusiastic endorsement
of PC Party Members who elected him as the party’s new leader at today’s
convention in Markham.
“Thank you to the thousands of men
and women who voted for me, who donated to our campaign and who worked
on my team,” said Tim. “This leadership race has shown that our party has
the talent, the depth and the confidence to bring responsible government
back to Ontario.”
Tim’s first order of business as
leader of the Ontario PC Party will be to take on the McGuinty government
over its record of job losses and gross economic mismanagement. Joined
by his caucus colleagues and leadership candidates Frank Klees, Christine
Elliott, and Randy Hillier, Tim said that a united and energized party
is ready to start the 2011 election campaign.
“Moving forward, we will energize
and invigorate our grassroots supporters across the province and build
a broad movement of middle class voters who know that our party – the PC
Party – best represents their families’ hopes and dreams,” said Tim.
Over the days and weeks ahead, Tim
will bring together party members, the party executive, and his caucus
colleagues to continue building on the momentum that has re-energized the
Ontario PC Party through the recent leadership election. |
